Winners of the 2024 Bozeman’s Choice Bluegrass Band, Trout Basket delivers high-energy, foot-stomping bluegrass with a heart-and-soul folk twist. Known for their original tunes and unique takes on classic songs, they create an atmosphere that’s all about good vibes, great music, and even better company.
Started in 2020 by Garrett Benjamin (a multi-instrumentalist with a knack for blending sounds) and Brendan Fox (a bass player with serious groove), Trout Basket began as a duo before adding Luke Gladis (mandolin) and Lily Johnston (fiddle) to round out the lineup. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and together they’ve become a staple of the Bozeman music scene.
With deep roots in bluegrass and folk, but always open to mixing in other genres, you never know what you’re going to hear when Trout Basket hits the stage. If you’re into picking, harmonies, and that warm, old-timey feeling with a fresh twist, this band is a must see.
